With more than 140 transfer contracts with community colleges – more than any university in the state of Michigan – Eastern Michigan University has long been considered the most transfer-friendly school for students in the community. Visit the Michigan Transfer Network website to see how your credits are transferred to Michigan colleges and universities. In 2012, the Michigan legislature adopted the language of colleges that focused on improving the portability of basic education by revising the current agreement of the Michigan Association of Registrars and Admissions Officers (MACRAO). The language created a state committee that included 5 representatives of the Community College, five individuals from public universities and four legislators (two from each chamber). Joint agreements are transfer agreements with specific programs and partner schools. These agreements indicate the paths to a smooth transfer. The above courses are not the only language courses that are transmitted. There are language classes at a lower level that are transferred to these departments, and there may be courses in other washtenaw departments that are transferred. They offer a list of courses that meet specific course requirements at the transfer university. Please check with your academic advisor and the transfer university to find out if a guide to your transfer program is available. The ad hoc committee MTA 2.0 was created to address issues that could not be discussed and/or resolved during the first development and implementation of the agreement.
